CrisisMaven’s Blog News 2010-02-16: Over 10,000 Webpage Views!

Thanks to all avid readers: today, 2010-02-16 at around 18:40 GMT we went past our first 10,000 visitors on our blog in under one month! And with some interesting twists …

Also our overall ranking in the pertinent search engines etc. isn’t all that bad, with Google lagging behind Yahoo, Bing and others. We had planned (or rather: hoped) to get past 5,000 in the first 30 days, now we did in half and are even over the 10,000 in less than a month. So thank you all again, and if you find the posts interesting, why not spread the word! Esp. our unique (if I may say so) Economics & Statistical References List still draws a growing number of visitors, now joined by increasing visits to our Data Visualisation References and we hope to make this the one-stop-shop for all your data needs in that domain. Check it out, bookmark it or send the link to friends post it to college notice-boards etc.

This notice comes shortly after when 2010-02-05 at around 15:20 GMT we went past our first 5,000 hits after only the first fortnight.

Due to the geographic spread of our readership our Alexa search ranking doesn’t look bad either, and if ever you want to know “what the Internet knows about you” then try quantcast for example.

I wish I knew how you do it, CrisisMaven! CONGRATULATIONS once again!!! Are you an SEO specialist besides being a crisis maven?

And many thanks for the link to quantcast!

Thanks Greg & Sabine! Well, in a sense I am testing if I have understood how SEO works with this blog, as a little side study & activity. Though SEO or “search engine optimisation” is only a fraction, currently the direct referrals from search engines hover at about 5% per day.
